Will you brave a dead man's challenge?
The Midsummer Feast brings all sorts to the town of Bense, farmers and traders from across Norrøngard and beyond. But this summer, one of the arrivals has come a long way indeed—from beyond the grave.
Skathi the Troll-Breaker was a once-heralded warrior of great renown. Dying in an ignoble fashion, Skathi refuses to accept his fate and lingers between life and death as a malevolent draugr.
The undead has begun preying on the people of Bense, killing one victim a week, but this is merely a ruse to draw heroes to his gravesite.
The after-walker hopes that worthy adventurers will arise to seek him out and provide him with a real challenge. He awaits in his barrow deep in the Mounds where he has prepared something special for their eventual arrival.
But who will brave the draugr’s diversion?
The Aptrgangr’s Challenge is an introductory adventure for 1st level characters intended for the Tales of the Valiant roleplaying game system and fully compatible with the fifth edition of Dungeons & Dragons. The Aptrganger’s Challenge originally appeared in theNorrøngard Campaign Setting for Dungeon & Dragons 5th edition. It has been converted and updated for this edition.
