Thrones & Bones began life as a fantasy book trilogy by Lou Anders, published by Penguin Random House. In 2020, Lazy Wolf Studios was created to publish roleplaying game material set in the world of the novels. While the books were children’s novels, the game material is for anyone who enjoys roleplaying games. Some game material is not intended for children and is marked as such.

These roleplaying game materials are powered by Dungeons & Dragons (Wizards of the Coast) and/or Tales of the Valiant (Kobold Press). Copies of either game’s Player’s Guide is recommended, though both companies offer free rules on their websites. Beyond that, all you need is dice, a pen and paper, and your imagination.

The Thrones & Bones trilogy was published by Penguin Random House from 2014 to 2016. A stand alone novel set in the same world, Once Upon a Unicorn, was released in 2020. All novels are still available on online sites such as Amazon and Barnes & Noble. It’s possible that in the future Lazy Wolf Studios may release its own “authors preferred edition” available here.
